Theo Martinez originally from Nashua NH, began dancing at age 7. He originally started as a self-taught Hip Hop dancer, by copying MTV music videos, Michael Jackson, and the movie 'Breakin'- dancing on playgrounds, parties, and school dances. Later as a teen/young adult, he discovered a love for house music and house dance. He has maintained that love and passion for dance and has turned it into his own business, HTM dance. Now, in addition to Hip Hop dance and choreography, Theo also puts a strong focus on Ballroom/Partner dancing. His teachings range from the styles of Wedding Dance Choreography, showcase dances, ballroom dance instruction, social dancing, and competitive Ballroom dance sport. Theo loves connecting with people, showing them the true partnership when two people dance together.
Companies Theo has performed and choreographed with are Urbanity, Tribe, B-Side, Triple Threat, Ipswitch Moving Company, Theani Salsa, and solo work for himself. Theo has also worked in adult and teen community theater- choreographing productions of 'Swing', and 'Smokey Joes Cafe'. He also competes in professional and pro-am ballroom dance events, as well as perform showcase dances. Most recently he performed at the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, Boston Salsa Festival, and MAPC/Small Steps of Resilience. His unique approach of storytelling in his choreography has won many awards, and loved by audiences who have seen his work.
Theo started his business 'HTM Dance' seven years ago, so he could spend more time with his family, but also keep his love of dance alive. Recognizing that, as important as it is to do what you love, it's equally important to also give that same love, passion and time to your family.
